Jatropha Africa continuously work with other organisations to develop strategy for improving the flow of information on best practices in rural finance and relevant training materials to those who have most need of access to this information.
In 2006 we promoted fair trade and to provide the people of Aduamoah with a platform to enable them to sell their product directly to the world market. Tiger nut (Cyperus Esculentus) is an important crop for the people of Aduamoah in the Kwahu South District of Ghana. It contributes to household subsistence and incomes.
In 2010 &12 We help set two plantation in Benin republic for Altheo Solanyo and it was integrated project using Jatropha and Solar to power electricity for their farm workers and the excess energy pump back to nation grid.
2015 We got grant from University of California to help purchased Genset engine powered by electricity for the electrification of the health centre and the only primary school at kadelso.
The electricity production system consists of a power plant made up of 3 x 100kW diesel-generating sets. The engines have been modified to run on pure Jatropha oil and have a heat exchanger built into fuel system to reduce the viscosity of the Jatropha oil thereby making the oil suitable for use in the engine. The engine can be run on pure diesel or Jatropha or any combination. A switch system allows the operator to change from diesel to Jatropha oil by the use of a two-tank system.
From the power station the electricity is distributed via a low voltage distribution system providing 380V 3 phase and 230V single phase at 50Hz to approximately 40 people. The total size of the grid is 2 km.
